In a bitterly divided 4-3 ruling, the state Court of Appeals said the trial judge made a critical mistake by letting women testify that Weinstein assaulted them, even though their accusations were not part of the charges he faced.
Bader emphasized that the prosecution was in fact seeking to uplift women by inviting the supplemental testimony.
/”I hope that they’ll [plaintiffs] keep in mind… that the prosecution here was trying to amplify their voices by bringing in this testimony that often is kept out./”
