On The Scene: North Korean people held a mass rally in Pyongyang on Wednesday (June 25) to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War, state media reported. In the footage provided by the North’s official news agency KCNA, which Reuters cannot independently verify, May Day Stadium was packed with a large number of people listening to speeches and watching videos. Banners denouncing the United States, such as “Let’s eliminate the sworn enemy, the U.S. invaders!” and “Let’s retaliate against the U.S. a hundredfold!” were hung up at the stadium.
